ABSTRACT

This session celebrates the people in the young person’s life who they feel have had a positive influence on their life. They may be people who taught them things, they may be carers, relatives, teachers or other professionals. The key here is allowing the young person time to identify people who have made a difference to their life and reflecting on what they have brought them. The people identified may be still in their life or they may be from the past, people with whom they no longer have any contact. It’s a good idea to get familiar with making the origami heart oneself before introducing it to the young person. On the front of the hearts, the young person writes the names of the people who have had a positive influence in their life. An alternative is to cut out heart-shaped pieces of card on which the young person can write the names.
