ABSTRACT

We have all done so much watching and judging screen works that most people take to editing like ducks to water. The software takes work to master and you will need to develop media management and project organization skills, which ensure a consistent filing system so your resources are highly organized and easy to access. Editing a long documentary is similar to editing a short one, except that longer films are generally more complicated to structure. Most operations described in this chapter are the short form editor’s responsibility—long form considerations are covered in Book II.
