ABSTRACT

The key to Guided Math is getting a good start. Establishing expectations, including rules, procedures, rewards, consequences, and public protocols are the glue that holds the whole program together. Students work well when they know what to expect and when. They have to practice to get it right. It is well worth the time to spend in the first few weeks to get it right rather than rushing into it and having to try and correct behaviors all year long. Good planning is also key to good program. If you plan, they will learn.
