ABSTRACT

Kidwatching is an essential part of knowing who we teach, what they can do, and how they learn. We must develop systems in our classroom that allow us to observe and know the whole child. We must figure out what they can do and use that to lead them from success to success. We must tap into their families and their socio-cultural ways of being and knowing so that we can build on what they come to us with. We must incorporate kidwatching as a serious endeavor into our repertoire of ways of knowing our students.
