ABSTRACT
Balanced assessment is an integral part of planning and successfully implementing guided math groups. Pre-assessment helps to determine students’ particular needs. Strategic ongoing assessments help to give feedback to the teacher of what students are learning and what they are struggling with. Evaluative assessments are another link in the evidence chain that helps to guide further instruction.
