ABSTRACT

In this chapter, the author guides the reader through the ‘Level 1’ application of Contextual Safeguarding achieved to date; mapping out activities against different elements of the system where changes have been implemented. From referrals through to assessment, planning, and intervention, Firmin illustrates how these various stages look different in a Contextual Safeguarding system, and what more work is needed to embed them. The chapter closes by mapping out how these various stages of system change speak to the four domains of the Contextual Safeguarding framework, to provide a macro account of how the practice examples featured in the chapter come together to create an overall shift in the delivery of child and family social work.
