ABSTRACT

Next, we visit some case studies. I am grateful for the participants in these case studies all of whom occupy a diversity of identities and roles in social work and in for and non-profit organizations. I share these case studies as specific examples of the ways I have used myself to positive disrupt normative organizational culture through the relationships I have built with social work supervisors and leaders in organizations. Guided by the traits and tools of mindfulness, compassion, comfortability with nuance, courage, vulnerability, empathic accountability, curiosity and being trauma responsive, I have used trauma-informed social work practice and leadership from the lens of diversity and inclusion in my work with a diverse array of teams, leaders, supervisors and students. Below, you will read the intersections of my practice of trauma-informed leadership from a diversity and inclusion lens.
