ABSTRACT
This chapter presents the reader with an overview of legal systems and criminal trials in Sweden and other relevant jurisdictions. This is followed by a summary of the key aspects of defence lawyers’ codes of conduct in Sweden, England and Wales, the U.S., and Australia. The chapter concludes with an introduction to the Swedish study setting in order to set the scene for the coming pages.
