ABSTRACT

Program administrators play a key role in the success and sustainability of sport organizations including the climate created. As leaders of the organization, they set the vision for the organization and influence the organizational climate, both of which can make it easier or harder for coaches to nurture a caring and task-involving climate. Therefore, administrators should also reflect upon their role in creating a caring and task-involving climate. This chapter reviews some concrete considerations for administrators related to developing an organizational mission that highlights the features of the caring and task-involving climate, modeling the mission, creating sport opportunities that support the mission, and aligning coach training and evaluation practices with a caring and task-involving climate.
