This chapter examines the essential skills in literature reviewing and offers advice on where to search for literature for students' dissertation. It offers practical guide and tips on how to undertake an effective search to generate resources for students' dissertation. The chapter presents issues relating to referencing, citations, quoting, paraphrasing and acknowledging other people’s work in a dissertation. Good note-taking and critical reading in the initial stages of students' dissertation will lead to a much more effective and focused literature review. The literature review, therefore, can add weight to students' question by framing it within broader debates within the academic community. The hope is that not only will students produce a dissertation that helps they to gain a good degree but that they will learn skills of information literacy that them will be able to use again and again both in their academic and professional careers.
