ABSTRACT
Globalisation has facilitated the integration of cities, regions and countries to form large-scale urbanized areas. This research adopts the sustainable development theory and classifies the impacts of tourism development into three dimensions with six sub-dimensions. The purpose of this research is to explore residents’ attitudes towards tourism development in GBA. The dimension of perceived positive environmental impacts is the most important dimension that can reflect residents’ views on tourism development in the GBA, followed by the dimension of perceived negative socio-cultural impacts and perceived positive economic impacts.
