ABSTRACT

For many of you reading this text, a doctorate in psychology is already in your plan, while for others it is a vague notion, or not even on your radar. Whatever your thinking is right now – it’s all right. This chapter begins with a consideration and review of your life/career goals to help you make or confirm your decision to consider or pursue doctoral-level training in psychology. It introduces you to the major career directions for those completing doctoral-level training. We’ll also provide information and guidance to help you choose the best possible degree and program for you, the application process for types of programs – as well as suggestions for making the most of your doctoral-level education in the context of your life/career goals.
