ABSTRACT
Chapter 3 introduces the concepts of career decision-making and planning or managing your career. These topics – decision-making, planning, and managing – are central to reaching your goal, whether it’s a job or graduate school after you earn your bachelor’s degree, or winning a Nobel Prize. This chapter will help you to think through factors that will impact your decisions about your career direction. Likewise, you are likely to have experienced that, even with a plan, things happen and opportunities come up – so plans change. That’s life! This chapter will help you to understand career decision-making, yourself, and your resources related to making career decisions, while remaining open to new opportunities.
