ABSTRACT
Descriptive statistics describe the characteristics of a data set. These statistics include measures of central tendency (the mean, median, and mode) and measures of variability (the standard deviation, variance, and range). The formulas for these statistics are not complicated, and Excel and SPSS can easily provide them.
