ABSTRACT

Understanding how variables are related can help a sport manager identify variables to target in marketing and promotions or in other types of research (e.g., management style/traits, employee satisfaction, revenue). In a correlation analysis, we calculate the relationship between two or more variables. The most common correlation is the bivariate correlation, or Pearson’s correlation, which quantifies the relationship between two variables. It is very important to keep in mind that, although the observation of correlations can be very useful, we cannot infer causation from a correlation.
