ABSTRACT
Knowledge exists in numerous forms, such as personal intuition, common knowledge, expert opinions, and published scientific literature. However, the most reliable knowledge about problems comes from unbiased inquiry in the form of a needs assessment or a scientific/scholarly research study. Each method is designed to assist industry professionals and scholars in solving problems through a systematic process leading to reliable information and sound, logical decision making.
