ABSTRACT
Sport managers need data in order to make decisions about new product proposals or ideas. A profitability study will provide information about the marketability of a product, facility, event, or service. A feasibility study will indicate whether it is even possible to manufacture a product, build a facility, host an event, or provide a service. External funding in the form of grants or contracts is essential for many special programs or projects. Grants and contracts help investigators complete projects that may go unfinished without external support. Sources of funding include corporate research and development departments, governmental agencies, foundations, and other organizations that support science, the arts, and industry.
