ABSTRACT

The second chapter, Narrative life writing across and within mutable genres, analytically reflects upon the shaky character of the writing self, feminist literary fiction, and life writing genres. It lends inspiration from the conceptualisation of the untimely, the theatre and a wallpaper, inspired by Cixous’ essay ‘Enter the Theatre’ and Gilman’s novella ‘The Yellow Wallpaper’. The chapter looks at the theory and method of documents of life, and narrative life writing genres, including diary and letter writing, memory work, poetic writing, and photography.
