ABSTRACT
This chapter outlines the components of the mobile banking FINSI, including the differences between financial institution mobile banking and telecom mobile banking. The chapter uses the FINSI framework to explore mobile banking’s growth and scale, the dark side of the FINSI, the implications for social outcomes, and projections for future trajectories of the FINSI. It also profiles an example of mobile banking: M-PESA.
