ABSTRACT

The purpose of this chapter is to provide a select few illustrations of global or transnational think tanks that illuminate the various aspects and details that have been discussed in previous chapters. The selected organizations are the European Council on Foreign Relations, the International Crisis Group and the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace. The European Council on Foreign Relations, which is primarily a regional think tank, is included in order to demonstrate the growing trend of hybridization, or the blurring previously defined distinctions, as think tanks go global. Therefore, the chapter is divided into sections, with each section pertaining to one of the above organizations.
