ABSTRACT

This chapter helps newly qualified teachers think about the preparation and planning of learning opportunities that is required throughout the year, terms, weeks, and days. It helps to develop an understanding of the complete diet of learning opportunities needed when planning for the children in their class.

The chapter also highlights the importance of being mindful of the class teacher’s responsibility of understanding the learning needs and progress of all the children in their class, irrespective of who is teaching them and where they are being taught. The embedding of key targets for some children in lessons and in everyday routines is addressed.
