ABSTRACT
This chapter describes the evolution from classic liberalism to neoliberal ideology between the 17th and 21st centuries. neoliberal ideology is infused into peacemaking, peacekeeping and peacebuilding processes. Hegemony is reflected when a certain way of life and thought is dominant and when one concept of reality is diffused throughout society in all its institutional and private manifestations, informing with its spirit all taste, morality, customs, religious and political principles. Neoliberal peace is a new concept derived from liberal peace. Liberal peace refers to the process of formulating and implementing “democratic peace. Newman et al. claim that it is the process of building institutions according to market economic and democratic principles. Technologies of discourse, like other technologies, open up possibilities in various directions, some more beneficial for the majority of people than others. Science is a discourse within which participants are schooled and credentialed in the ideology of accumulated human knowledge as the basis for deliberate human action.
