ABSTRACT

This chapter discusses the aspects of ensuring better control through performance evaluation and oversight and continual improvement. The effectiveness of the relationship is also very much underpinned by a sufficient level of Health & Safety (H&S) knowledge of both the Executive Leadership Team (ELT) and the Board. In fact, the importance of understanding the drive behind effective governance to help add value to the process of continual improvement, is based on how we ensure improvement is continual within an organization as a board and as the executives. For both the executives and the non-executive board members the company H&S performance is an important responsibility and accountability as discussed extensively so far. It is a primary responsibility for the ELT to ensure that arrangements in the way of processes are in place to ensure the implementation of the planned activities and performance.
