ABSTRACT

In this brief, final section, Silberer essentially muses philosophically about how the content of our dreams relates to the core of our moral being. Are we truly all that our dreams reflect, unbounded and unruly as they sometimes are? Or, are our dreams also a product of multiple external forces that impinge on us consciously and unconsciously throughout our waking days? As would be expected, Silberer offers no definitive answer to this dilemma. He instead reminds us that there is no light without shadow, and that life frequently emerges from the fertilizer of decay. Lastly, he instructs us that by mining the dream, we may uncover many of the true secrets of the human psyche.
