ABSTRACT
Statesmanship and sober analysis rather than overwrought emotions are needed in order to solve the accumulated problems. The people expect objective, well-considered words and sensible, realistic actions from us all—Party and Soviet workers, Deputies, and the scientific and creative intelligentsia. The Moldavian Communist Party Central Committee Bureau and the Moldavian Soviet Socialist Republic (SSR) Supreme Soviet Presidium and Government urge the republic’s working people to resolutely thwart attempts by irresponsible people to provoke disorder, foment interethnic discoid, spread false rumors, turn people into instruments of blind forces, and incite them to break the law. With a view to improving ethnic language relations on the territory of the Moldavian SSR, ensuring the development of the Moldavian language, giving it state language status, and at the same time ensuring the free use and development of the languages of other peoples.
