ABSTRACT
The potential impact on productivity and cost reduction resulting from technological and structural changes in Japan's beef industry was estimated in the last chapter. The problem now dealt with is to expand the scenarios by (1) developing additional ones about total supply of domestically produced beef, (2) amplifying the dicussion on dietary patterns presented in Chapter 2 into scenarios about total beef consumption and, (3) integrating supply and demand side scenarios to determine beef imports.
