ABSTRACT
A myriad of technologies now used in Japanese beef production, and ones that will be available in the next 25 years, have been evaluated and various scenarios developed about the impact on industry structure. These supply side phenomena have been amalgamated with demand side data, and various other scenarios developed about the impact on the country's beef consumption, production and imports. The purpose of this final chapter is to provide an overview of policy issues that arise from the scenarios, government policy goals regarding beef production, and an evaluation of current and projected policies.
