ABSTRACT
As in the second half of the 1970s, Jamaica's economic fortunes in the 1980s have continued to depend on the IMF. But whereas the Manley administration terminated discussions with the Fund in 1980, the Seaga administration which took office in 1980 has declared that the IMF is a necessary part of the island's economic future.
