ABSTRACT
There are extensive data available to analyze various aspects of the Mexican economy. This chapter focuses on a variety of dimensions related to the economy, including (1) Currency, (2) Natural Resource Production, (3) Agricultural Production, (4) Manufacturing Production, (5) Installed Electrical Energy Capacity, (6) Corporations, (7) Communications/Transport Sector, and (8) Economic Development and Mexican-United States Trade. Information included in this chapter is from a variety of sources including the 1989 Censos Economicos, the 1990 Population and Housing Census, the 1990 Anuario Estadistico, several years of the International Financial Statistics Yearbook and of the Direction of Trade Statistics. All maps and tables in this chapter report information at the state level.
