ABSTRACT

Sexualities in the Plural: Conflicting Practices and Representations, tackles contemporary sexual diversity and changes in the exercise of sexuality in Argentine society in general, and among adolescents in particular. We look at how social networks and new alcohol drinking habits among young people have affected the construction of intimacy and the dynamics of sexual relations. Finally, we discuss new family configurations resulting from changes in procreation practices, and the consequences for the development of sexuality. In this context, we argue that, as analysts, “we need to take distance from both prejudice and the unreflecting repetition of fashionable discourses.”
