ABSTRACT

The second part of the book, Facing Clinical Challenges, examines the ways in which psychoanalysts tackle our discipline’s current ethical and clinical challenges. In Chapter 11, The Psychoanalyst’s Writing Process, we explore writing as a creative process, the similarities between creative and psychoanalytic writing and, more specifically, the distinguishing features of the latter and its connection to clinical work. The aim of psychoanalytic writing, in our view, is to promote constant transformation in the analyst and to infuse this newness into the analytic dialogue.
