ABSTRACT

Chapter 12, Creating a Link in the Supervision Space, discusses supervision as another linking space of support, where analysts’ obstacles, resistances, and ideologies can be reviewed. It is a place where theories are checked against clinical experience and then reformulated, a place that is suitable for the transmission of psychoanalysis. We also offer some thoughts concerning the way psychoanalysts interrelate. Institutional life, the value of belonging, and the peer connections that are developed in our institutions can help us reflect on our profession.
