ABSTRACT

Family Practice describes a clinical case in some detail in order to show the need for analysts to develop flexibility to work with different devices. In this case, despite the fact that the parents were the only ones present in the consulting room, the entire family was able to change thanks to the therapy. In addition, the case illustrates the need to avoid reacting to our pressing need to respond when patients appeal to us with a sense of urgency. We must distinguish between the creation of a device as a response to an urgent demand, and the joint construction of a device once the urgent situation has been left behind.
