ABSTRACT

The book concludes by focussing on the possible next stages of a student’s career. It considers progression to an honours degree, employment or other opportunities such as promotion in the place of work. The chapter recommends using available careers service advice and spending time identifying the qualities, skills and qualifications gained as a result of the foundation degree and other additional qualifications. To give authenticity to the claims the student is advised to consult the SEEC level descriptors to note their development. The chapter also gives advice on constructing a CV with regard to the variety of information which a future employer needs to know and the form it could take. The book concludes with some hints about writing a letter of application and a reminder to continue to update personal development planning.
