ABSTRACT

This chapter describes a new approach to creating strategy in practical terms and introduces the Disciplined Strategy Map to support this effort. It highlights the work necessary to create a strategy, along with tools to use during the process. The first steps are to create a vision, a mission, and goals. Next is the process of backward mapping to support the articulation of the plan. The chapter closes with an overview of how backward mapping supports the creation of a Disciplined Strategy Map.
