ABSTRACT

In this concluding chapter, the authors recap the trauma clinician’s experience of growth and discuss the importance of professional development in moving forward. The chapter highlights the role of trauma competencies in assessing professional development, the importance of enriching trauma-focused skills that are grounded in a theoretical framework, and the professional obligation to engage in trauma-focused advocacy and prevention. The authors also incorporate the existential aspects of growth and learning that often occur for trauma clinicians. The chapter ends with tailored a keyword assessment, unique experiential activities, and targeted topics for supervisor discussion.
