ABSTRACT
With changing global definitions of security and an increasing interest in conflict resolution, there was also a change in India’s think tank landscape. The period following the 1998 nuclear tests led to the development of peacebuilding think tanks in India. With funding from global philanthropic organisations and an elite trained in conflict and peace studies, peacebuilding think tanks provided an alternative discourse on India-Pakistan relations, expanding the understanding of crucial issues of contention.
