ABSTRACT
This chapter introduces the subject of abortion in England and the key themes of the book. This includes the role of religion in abortion discourse, sexuality and pregnancy, as well as an outline of the book’s chapters on political amendments, the history of abortion and the representations of women in campaign literature and discourse. It also introduces the key members of the anti-abortion campaign.
