ABSTRACT

The proliferation of Artificial Intelligence is already ever-present in the average consumer’s life and is transforming how they incorporate information, interfaces, and exchanges. As the “connected health consumer” becomes the new norm, traditional health organizations will compete with new market entrants for mind share and market share of this important population. Intelligent Health Systems will take new approaches to overcome the age-old challenges of improving access, quality, effectiveness, and costs of health services. From global non-governmental organizations and regional health systems to individual departments within a hospital or government-sponsored social service organization, Intelligent Health Systems will come in all sizes and forms. Health organizations of all sizes are investing in various digital transformation efforts. The intelligent marketplace is not only changing consumer habits but also erasing historical industry boundaries and encouraging new players to enter the health market. Many health consumers and patients are transforming from passive to active participants in taking charge of their healthcare delivery.
