ABSTRACT

Artificial Intelligence (AI) applications with a proven return on investment are gaining prominence in the market across clinical and nonclinical use cases. The ultimate goal of Intelligent Health Systems is to provide an efficient, personalized experience for each patient and consumer. The application of conversational AI allows for more efficient and regular communication between patients and care providers to support administrative tasks including referrals, patient satisfaction surveys, appointment scheduling, billing, and insurance verification. The application of smart analytics tools to create consumer profiles allow health organizations to provide tailored messaging, improve customer retention, and keep patients engaged with their financial and clinical responsibilities. Chronic condition management is an area where AI can assist clinicians in providing better intuitive care management for chronic patients. AI solutions can be used to transform the status quo, which is characterized by data noninteroperability, provider burnout, and care leakages. In the future AI may make television shows about doctors and hospitals much less interesting.
