ABSTRACT

Transformational Artificial Intelligence (AI) leaders understand that success is dependent on the effort of the entire team. Most health leaders are excited about the opportunities to use AI and smart systems to drive systemic change in keeping with their mission and goals. Successful leaders will leverage AI to create new approaches in which an organization’s activities, people, culture, and structure are aligned with the new expectations of the market. Transformational leaders recognize and act on the premise that the value AI comes down to unlocking the full potential of the continuous interactions between humans and machines. Successfully creating and managing the transition requires that leaders actively identify relevant stakeholders, and bring along in this journey their clinicians, employees, patients, and consumers. Intelligent Health Systems require leaders to better understand how to curate and use all forms of data differently. Leaders must understand and commit to a strategy and then actively communicate the importance and benefits of the strategy to all.
