ABSTRACT

While it is more common for companies to request interviews via phone or video for internships, it is possible that here or there you might get the same request for an actual job interview. For phone interviews, you want to make sure that you are in a quiet place where you won’t be distracted, and also where there isn’t a lot of background noise, which will be annoying to your prospective boss. Avoid doing these interviews while driving because phone calls can cut out, depending on where you are, and you don’t want the person on the other end to have to keep calling you back. The nice thing about a phone interview is that, since the person can’t actually see you, you can make some notes ahead of time on points you’d like to get across. But, because the person can’t see you, it is important to make sure that your voice has lots of energy in it. You don’t want to come across as lethargic.
