ABSTRACT

As the Pochxs have noted in different ways throughout this volume, the creation of new communities of radical inclusivity, rather than theoretical or aesthetic novelty, lies at the heart of Pocha productions and workshops. Thus, we felt that the following “sound outs” were valuable to our pedagogical handbook on two levels. First, they serve to extend the “workshop” space into the practice of writing by sharing the voices of collaborators that embrace the theoretical and interpersonal borderlands as a catalyst for new expressive 232practices. Here, the themes of eco-sexuality, the aging body, trauma, new technologies, curatorial interventions, and parenting are held up and honored as radical practices our community members bring into the mix. Secondly, these Pocha-inspired writings are also offered as an invitation to jam with text as a site of performance. What kind of conceptual collage – what kinds of manifestos and anti-manifestos – might your collaborators come up with at the conclusion of a workshop, or as an exercise in the poetics unleashed by performance practice?
