A detachment had been sent to Raisina, the main column remaining at Gurgaon until 2 November; on 3 November it moved; it attacked Kasan and destroyed it. Showers sahibba moved on, burning the villages of Saidpur, Milakpur Gujjar, Santhalka, Harchandpur, Khori Nizampur, and Didara on the way and reached Taoru. On the 31st, a detachment was sent to a village named Raisina in Mewat, about which Muir wrote to Edmonstone and Sherer on 2 November, Showers’ Column is engaged with the Mewatees in Goorgaon district. Showers wrote to Delhi to say that he considered it necessary that the column should march in force against the Mewattis. From Gurgaon, Showers wrote to Penny about the state of his column. When the column was at Mahendragarh itself, Showers got information of the plundering of Sohna by Mewattis, consequently it was planned by him to go to Mewat.
