ABSTRACT
The objective of this chapter is to describe the essence step of selecting and applying strategies and interventions to address or remove constraints to solution sequences. The selection of strategies follows the IST guidelines (see Appendix B) for intervention represented on the IST matrix with an understanding that the prescribed progression may need to be modified in the face of a compelling hypothesis or a significant alliance issue. It is beyond the scope of this book (or any book) to describe all of the strategies and their related interventions in detail. This chapter outlines the process of selecting strategies, gives examples of interventions, and provides a fairly comprehensive list of IST strategies along with references for them.
