ABSTRACT

One of the reasons the author loves co-operative games is that nobody is ever ‘out’, there are no winners, no losers, no outsiders; it is purely a win-win situation. She focuses on co-operative games, which are to be played just for the fun of it, such as, Heads Down, Thumbs Up; The Bean Game; Huggy Bear; All Change; Points of Contact; and so on. As Masheder says, in co-operative games all players find it mutually beneficial to help one another. It is a case of working together, making joint decisions, and doing their best. So, the challenge comes from the process rather than being a winner. Co-operative games foster: kindness and sharing; empathy; collaboration; peace and harmony; enhanced self-concept; positive communication skills; peaceful conflict-solving; mutual decision-making; inclusion; affirmation and encouragement by others; and so on. Co-operative games are revolutionary in the potential to create a better world.
