ABSTRACT

The digital economy is a growing pillar of global business development. Modern business formulas are changing. Innovative solutions of modern business are based on the assumptions of the digital economy and the new concepts of management and functioning in the emergent conditions of globalisation. Traditional solutions for creating business are replaced with new and innovative formulas that disrupt the current order and functioning of global business. The digital transformation means that many companies operating traditionally will have to recognise new rules or simply cease to exist. The purpose of the first chapter is to indicate the assumptions of the new theories and concepts of modern economics and management that have an impact on the modern reality of business functioning. The chapter describes the context of current changes in global markets in terms of modern trends and innovative digital technologies.
