ABSTRACT

This concluding chapter moves to contextualise the findings of this research project within the wider themes of the global and multilingual academy, corpus-based contrastive linguistics, and language pedagogy. The chapter offers a summary of relevant language pedagogy research and indicates how the findings of this contrastive linguistic analysis can be applied to language learning contexts. Consideration is given to concepts such as EAP, ESP, and their French and Spanish equivalents, indirect corpus applications to teaching and learning academic language, and direct applications in language learning contexts. This chapter also points to potential areas for development in the field.
