ABSTRACT
Floss represents a child whose home environment becomes one of coercive control and domestic abuse. Her story portrays the typical thoughts, feelings, reactions and behaviours of a young child who is stressed and scared. The story shows her route to accessing support from a key, empathetic, emotionally available, adult in school, who may also support her mother and alert safeguarding services.
