ABSTRACT

Every principal’s experience is unique, and every school is different. But great principals—regardless of student clientele, grade levels, or school size—have much in common. In this book, the author highlights twenty hallmarks of great principals—their attitudes, goals, decisions, and practices. In the end, the difference lies in the core of beliefs that guide great principals' work. The author shares the core of what matters to him. Principals must adhere to their core values. No matter what others want them to do, they must focus on what is right for their students. Without a core of firmly held beliefs, it is difficult to steer a steady course. With this core, the principals feel secure and confident. And so do their teachers. And most importantly, so will their students.
